What exactly is GEO?+
GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimization — the work of making sure AI systems like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini know you, understand you and recommend you in their answers. It is the counterpart to SEO for a world where the answer is a single one instead of ten blue links.
Do I need it already?+
The channel is young, which is exactly why it's still affordable. Wait until everyone is doing it, and you'll pay considerably more for the same position later. Today a presence can be built with manageable effort that will have to be defended tomorrow.
Does GEO replace classic SEO?+
No — it builds on it. Clean technology, structured data and good content are the foundation for both. Much of what is built for Google also works in AI systems; GEO adds the parts that additionally count there.
How do you measure success in AI systems?+
Through regular, documented checks of a fixed prompt set: which questions do your customers ask, what do the systems answer, do you appear in it, as a mention, a source, a recommendation? The report covers prompt coverage, mention rate, citation rate, position, competitor comparison and sentiment, per platform and over time. Plus your own numbers: visitors, enquiries and sales arriving from AI answers.
What does GEO cost?+
There's no price list for GEO because the effort depends heavily on your starting point and industry. The visibility check is free; the engagement after that runs month to month with no minimum term and covers the baseline, foundations, content, external presence and monthly monitoring. The price is driven mainly by the number of target prompts and platforms, the technical state of the website, competitive density and the amount of content work. State your budget range in the enquiry form and you'll get an honest assessment of what's achievable with it.
Which AI searches does GEO cover?+
All common ones: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews, Claude, Microsoft Copilot and more. With Finseo we track which of them mention your brand, and at the start we define together which systems matter for your customers. The foundations, meaning structured data, crawlability and citable content, work across all systems at once.
How does convecom check AI crawlability?+
With Finseo and by hand: robots.txt and rules for AI bots such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot, status codes, indexability of the source pages, dependence on JavaScript, and blocks by bot protection. The goal is that the content meant to serve as a source sits directly in the HTML and is readable for the crawlers. In a measurement by Vercel, the crawlers of OpenAI, Anthropic and Perplexity did not execute any JavaScript.

Which markets and languages do you work in?+
Most of our clients are based in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. We work in German or English, and we track and optimise English-language prompts and content as well. For projects in many languages at once, a provider specialised in that is probably a better fit.
